New data has revealed one in five Brits want The Price Is Right to be the next gameshow to make a huge TV comeback.
The beloved gameshow, which was hosted by the likes of Leslie Crowther and Bruce Forsyth, has been given the chance to temporarily return to ITV before, but it seems fans want it back on screens for good.
Both Joe Pasquale and Alan Carr have fronted short-lived comebacks in more recent years, but the last outing of the format aired six years ago, in 2017.
And a recent survey conducted in conjunction with Spin Genie’s AR Treasure Quest launch, confirms this is the gameshow viewers most want to return next, with 19% of survey respondents choosing this option.
Other past gameshows TV viewers are keen to see return include Wheel of Fortune (17%), Treasure Hunt (13%), Davina McCall’s big money hitter, The Million Pound Drop (12%) and Strike It Lucky (12%) flesh out the top 5.
However, nearly 1in 3 respondents don’t want any of the past gameshows on offer to make a comeback, believing they’re better left alone.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Clarkson-fronted quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was dubbed the gameshow to have had the best comeback by respondents, with 25% of Brits choosing this option.
Gladiators came in second place at 11%, while the recently-revived Deal Or No Deal was branded the best comeback by 10% of respondents - however, a whopping 25% of British TV fans believed none of the revamped gameshows on offer had successful comebacks.
