The game opens with a unique twist. The three-row, five-reel area is arranged on a table similar to a traditional board game. At first, it's somewhat confusing because of its almost optical slant. The perspective in Heroes' Gathering may give the game a unique appearance, but the gameplay is largely unchanged.

You will receive a reward if you get three or more matching symbols on any one of the 20 fixed paylines. The knight in a battlesuit looking through a helm, worth twenty times the stake for five of a type, is the emblem you want. The remaining rewards are a book, a pair of blades, a coat of arms, a mage, and an amiable goblin, in decreasing order. The paytable is completed by three low pays, which are represented by circular gold or gem objects. The wild symbol, which resembles a swirling mage's orb, is the most paying one. It pays out 50 times the bet for a line of five and can replace any of the pay symbols.

The base game serves as a prelude to the bonus round, which is when the board game is used. Ironically, because there aren't many different squares and they don't truly change spins, it's less complicated than other slot board games. The most desirable of the two bonus games is activated when three scatters appear on reels 1, 3, and 5. At that point, the Board Game Main feature activates and grants limitless free spins. After the reels spin, any winnings are gathered.
